Meet Our Teachers
Rami Owner/Founder Senior Yoga Teacher
Rami has been a practitioner of yoga all her life and has been teaching yoga since 2000.
Whilst growing up in an Ashram in India, Rami spent her early years studying and practicing all aspects of yoga i.e learning how to meditate, chant ancient texts by heart, and studying the Vedic scriptures; In addition to practicing the physical asanas.
She continues her studies in Sanskrit, chanting and meditation with her Master in India.
"My daily practise consists of pranayama, meditation, asana and chanting. Pranayama and meditation cleanses/soothes my body and mind. Asana, is the way in which I maintain a steady awareness of the present moment. But chanting- aahhhh chanting. Chanting is what fills my entire being with bliss. It is simply the most powerful, and all round useful, of all the tools in my tool kit. Chanting is what anchors me when I experience fear or trepidation, chanting is what elates me when I'm down/depressed, chanting is what I do for both the discipline it offers and for the fun of it!"
Rami is also a Kinesiologist, having been in private practice since 2012; And is currently studying to become a Naturopath.
Acknowledging the abundance in the world around us, Rami chooses to purchase preloved items as much as possible.
Rami's classes cater for all levels.

BK
Yoga Teacher
BK started his yoga practice at a Fitness First gym after doing Body Balance classes in 2008. He came from a dynamic, competitive sports background, and carried a lot of injuries, and misconceptions about his physical body.
As his practice progressed, the physical ailments subsided, and he gained a much deeper understanding of his overall body image.
BK loves the meditative effects of using pranayama in his asana practice. Curiosity, along with the opportunity to introspect, and the discipline to not run from the findings, is what keeps BK coming back to the mat again and again. His classes offer the space to witness the ways your body is compensating in areas. "Through the use of our bodies, and becoming an objective witness to our own selves when emotions and mind states present themselves, we can then begin to uncover their origins and grasp the necessary accountability for our life." BK likes to care for our planet by showering with a bucket to catch the run off, which he then uses to water his plants. BK's class caters for all levels.

Elena
Yoga Teacher
Elena was 18yo when she joined a yoga class for the first time. After which, she spent many years practicing different styles of yoga until 2016, when she decided to dedicate herself to the Ashtanga yoga practice.
Elena's favourite aspect of the yoga practice is the fire which asana ignites in the body, as well as the mind/body connection that is achieved, by focusing on the link between breath and movement. "If we work to keep the right focus turned on, every class can turn into a moving meditation."
The greatest gift yoga has offered Elena, and keeps offering every time she hits the mat, is peace of mind, a lighter heart and a stronger body.
Elena honours the planet by keeping in contact with nature, enjoying walks in the bush at least once a week, holding a grateful heart for everything that nature provides us with. She's big on recycling and reusing, "Who doesn't have a huge box of glass jars under the kitchen sink? For sure they'll all be useful someday!" Elena's classes cater for all levels.

Bianca
Yoga Teacher
Bianca found her way to yoga after a car accident nearly 30 years ago. It was her doctor who recommended yoga as a means for both physical therapy and exercise. Having found her first two classes boring before she accidentally found herself in an Ashtanga class and had an ‘aha’ yoga moment.
"I see my practice and teachings as an infinite apprenticeship, and I believe yoga and one’s own practice, is an ongoing evolution and that is the beauty of yoga. It changes and adapts to your needs on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis. Nowadays my personal practice is strongly grounded in traditional Hatha methods, Yin, Restorative and the last few years I’ve taken a more feminine approach that recognises and synchronises with my moon cycles. Even when I practice in a Mysore class, I may practice the Moon Series (which is for menstruation, pregnancy and Peri-menopause)."
Bianca's classes cater for all levels.
